Alta Madera play music from different cultures, in fact they begin their activity by performing musical pieces from the countries of Latin America, including Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina and Cuba, the homeland of the violinist Ruben Chiaviano.
They release their first album, titled Alta Madera, in 2005, followed by Velas (2007) and En vivo! (2008), all published on the Materiali Sonori label.
In 2008 the group participates in the live project Il Cartellone di Orientoccidente 2008, together with Trilok Gurtu.
